Hey there Everyone

I took my W6 up the road the other day in fifth gear and noticed that if I took it above a half throttle that it had a very notcieable not to mention dangerous speed wobble. It appears that the back lash is somewhere in the steering gear housing as there was no backlash transmitted up the steering coloumn to my hands. I was wondering if there are any ways of mending this. I know old tractors weren't noted for their prestine handling but mine is very lose. If anyone out there has some input I'd love to hear from ya. Thanks to everyone in advance and take care.
Sincerely
Allan Lance

Check the toe in setting and all the tie rods, etc for play. If it's in the steering gear, you can take the drag link off the splined shaft coming out of the gear housing. Turn the steering wheel and rotate the splined shaft 90(or if you want 180) degrees and reattach everything. If the gear teeth on the worm wheel are the problem, this will give you new teeth to contact the worm. The reason you can do this is that the worm wheel gear is a 360 degree gear, not a sector gear as some are.
