There's a seal around the drive coupling, a gasket between the pump and the reservoir back plate, a gasket between the reservoir back plate and reservoir body and pipes screwed into the pump. Remove the inspection plate under the pump and, after cleaning things up a bit, you may be able to see where the leak is coming from. If you're lucky, it may be from where the pipes screw into the pump. If this is the case you can unscrew them without removing the pump and try putting some pipe-joint compound on the threads. Leaks anywhere else mean you'll have to drop the pump. Check the archives for methods on lowering the pump and rebuild tips. If you're going to replace the seal around the drive coupling, check out the method where you leave some oil in the reservoir and back off the coupling with a pneumatic drive - the oil provides the resistance you'll need to get it off. It's a lot easier (less prone to breakage) on the coupling and gear teeth.

Forgot to tell you. If your library does interstate, interlibrary loans, you can get a copy of _HYDRAULIC LIFT-ALL for Farmalls H, HV, M, MV, MD and MDV_ (manual number GSS-5034), published by International Harvester Company, from the STATE LIBRARY OF LA - the call number is 629.225. The pumps are easy to rebuild - the hardest parts are getting them down and getting that coupler off. I rebuilt mine a couple of winters ago and all the parts (balls, springs, gasket for between the pump and the back plate - I cut my own for the big one between the back plate and the reservior and didn't need to replace the coupler seal) came to under $30. Good luck.
