I want to take the oil pan off my 300U but the last bolt (center rear) is bloody near impossible to get out without taking off the center stablizer from the front axle.

If I unbolt this from the bottom of the tranny will the whole damn tractor fall on me?

OK I'm exaggerating, but will I have a really hard time getting it back together cause when I loosened the bolts it seems to want to move.

The oil pan is suffering from leaks as a result of a really bad repair job and I want to fix it while I've got everything else apart.

as always your help is appreciated.

I usually don't take the axle stay rod loose, but it won't fall if you do. Remove the three bolts that hold stay rod bracket. Put a jack under trans to raise tractor and axle should drop enough to get at the pan bolts. Dont forget to use jack stands as well. Better safe than sorry.

Last time I fooled around with that area, I jacked up the front end and put wood blocking under the front bolster. Probably the safest way, and not that hard to do.
