I have a 350U Wheatland Gas with a Schwartz loader (I think that is the name). If a picture of how it is all hooked up to the hydraulics would be of assistance, just let me know.

Mine is all fouled up.I dont know who the moron was that plumbed it,but its got one valve set to DUAL when its a SINGLE acting lift cylinder, and the return (down stroke) going back into the drain for the reservoir. And they have the outer valve being the up/down,which I read is wrong.Otherwise, its factory IH with a hydraulic block on the right side of the trans case where all the hoses run to.
No,I have no close up shots of the plumbing. And its snowing like a bear here...so it aint gonna happen any time soon! lol

Thanks.

No problem, I think I've got a bit of an idea how to hook it up. It stopped snowing here, just cold as h_ll (with the windchill they're saying -30 deg tonight).

No power steering, I figure by the end of the summer I'll have arms like that guy on American Chopper. I have an idea that maybe I can hook up hydraulic steering like that Jackson Power steering gear.

At any rate I've only seen a picture of the new loader, will go and have a look next week or so. Looks very much like the one you have, I am guessing that the reason your loader is plumbed different from the manual is that it might have originally been a trip loader and has been converted to down pressure, which is what I'll do with this one as well.

Anyhow, when it warms up I'll bug you again for a picture.

Thanks for your help.

I have a 300u and I have looked into the power steering thing. I am thinking of buying a charlyn unit, which is rotary, rather than putting a cylinder on the side. Or simply making the pitman arms longer - more leverage. Whatever you do, post it here so the rest of us red guys can benifit from your experience. I have learned a lot here. Easy ( aka Irv)

This has no down pressure. They are factory 1955 U34 Power Loader lift cylinders...only up,gravity down. The dump has double acting cylinder of course.
The U34 loader also had U34A and U34B updates later on.Of course my 55 was ordered with the 1955 loader at time of purchase,so its original....the 1st generation.
