Sad Story

Last week we got about a foot of snow, took the 300U out to snowblow out the lane and once down and up again and the hydaulics gave out. Had to go warm up the Ford N to finish the job. Now that's a sad story.

Anyhow, whoever gave me the advice about the worn pump shaft was dead on, the old steel framed seal had given out and scraped a good groove in the pump shaft. New seal would last about ten minutes. Took it to the machine shop today, they can chrome and grind for $80 canadian.

Once I started taking her apart the bits started flying off, guess I've been looking at too many pictures of all the purty tractors, next thing ya know I find myself scraping and painting, shop is just red all over.

Doesn't sound like a sad story. It sounds like a Cinderella story taking place! Cinderella is getting prepped to wear a new RED prom dress!

Well, that is the way it goes. Good for you. I have put more than a few bucks into my H and never touched it with a paint brush.
