Can this be the real deal? I am waiting for the guy to contact me back to see what he is asking for it. I don't need that big of a tractor but how could you resist?

Pictures can be decieving but that sure don't look like 400 hour tires to me. My eyes are not that good though.

Hi NDS,

If the hours are correct then the tires are probably about 28 years old. They aren't gonna look like new tires, would they?

Can't see the tread in the picture.

Allan

That's the first thing (the tires) I noticed too.

I bet I'd buy it in a heartbeat but I'd sure want to see it in person before I wrote the check.

You're darned right.

$22K almost seems a little cheap if it in fact really only has those stated 400 hours. Pretty cheap, reliable horsepower, if ya ask me.

Well that would explain why I am waiting so long for a contact back. Everybody and his uncle is emailing the poor guy with the same question. I live about 20 minutes from the guy and might actually BUY the thing if I could get a response.
Then again...I don't actually need that big of a tractor....

Can some one explain why people don't put their price in their ads? Do they like answering hundreds of emails? Is their price so far out of line no one would even respond? I responded to an ad for a barn for sale and the fellow wouldn't give me a price until I came to look at it. I didn't. My nickel Dick Davis

Dave: Careful with those directions, I'm going to Hamtramck in the morning. Your telling me how close I might be.

Hamtramck that is one place I have not been to in a while used to work down there 2-3 days a week in GM then it went to American Axle. We used to eat Lunch at a place called the port bar I think. We always loved the food there! Go there for me would you!

Chad: I go to Hamtramck almost weekly, don't get to see many of the side streets, as I'm running a 53' trailer. I go first to the Food Terminal down on W. LaFayette, then to the Easterm Market on Mack Ave. Then come right up I-75 to Holdbrook, past American Axle, on to the end of the street, make a left, go to Edwin Ave to Home Style Foods. I start with a full trailer load of CABBAGE, in essence I bring more unprocessed methane to Detroit than most people.

Now just where is this good eating establishment, called the port bar, cause sometimes those old boys just make me wait, to get unloaded? After I get unloaded I head home to Ontario, via I-94 to Port Huron. On my way I view all the old Farmalls out along I-94. There are a number to see, and I am encouraging more to get them out. That's what I like about I-94 speed limits, all those cars whizzing along at 70mph and we poor old truckers putter along at 55 and enjoy the old iron. Of course we see more than they do as well.

Paul: Read my responce to Chad, then guide me to those eating establisments. Anything that will fill up Good Old Farmall Boys, got to be good food.

I usually hit the Food Terminal down on W. Lafayette around 4:30 am, then up to Mack Ave about 5:30 am. Terminal area doesn't bother me a whole lot, commercial activity going on there all night. I'm not too fussy about getting in around Mack Ave, much before 5 am. Commercial activity there alright, most of it the type they don't pay income tax on. This puts me up in Hamtramck shortly after 6 am and often times I don't get backed in to unload until 8 or 9. Quite often leaves me with a bit of time.

If your coming, bring some of that good Polish food. $22K for that tractor. I was right, it is too much tractor for me. I could fill the whole yard with rusty junk to restore at that price.
At $22K I can't justify it unless I take it to the Woodward dream cruise and that is just plain silly.

22K for that 1086????..... ....Heck, Mr Ilich didn"t spend much more than that for Magglio Ordonoz. I hope whoever deals for that 1086 gets at least one other tractor to be named later for that price.
