Folks, I see by the photo ads that we have been victims of the mushroom treatment, (kept in the dark and covered with, Ahem, "fertilizer"). Some guy in Tennessee is selling his 1953 Farmall B-N. What is amazing is that after 6 years out of production, IH decided to build one just for him. I doubt that there is another one on the planet, which would make it more rare than the SHTAD, in which case he is selling way too cheap.

Paul: Quite a bit of that in photo adds today. Don't which is more dangerous the "uninformed" buying or selling. All we can hope for is they all get together. I think I could go for his BN ahead of the mini log skidder from MA, looks like a bed spring with ATV wheels, even has a second one for parts.

Hugh, Those were indeed monsterous log skidders. What the seller conveniently omitted was that they were used for "Lincoln Logs". That B-N, having been built in 1953 missed having a TA by one year.

John, I didn"t say he was conning anyone, I was suggesting, humerously, that IH had manufactured a 1953 B-N that they didn"t tell us about. Sometimes, ya just gotta read between the lines.

Didnt mean anything by my comments, just trying to point out that just because one guy tries to can someone doesnt mean someone else is.Poor guy probably doesnt realize when his BN was made.I once thought my 41 M was a 50 because I didnt know any better.

John: Got to admit, Paul didn't have his usual approach to humor. Must be all that snow that is still hangin around up there in Saginaw MI. He usually puts a better spin on these humor items.

John, I"m sure you are right. Heck it could have been an unintentional typo error. Some of us with too much time on our hands are quick to make hay out of such opportunities. Back when the SHDTA issue was floating around here, Hugh Mackay and I decided that there had to be a SBNTADV (Super BN TA Diesel High Clear) out there somewhere, and if not, we should build one and market it as original. There are opportunities here for anyone willing to reach for the brass ring.

John, If there is anyone out there who would truly believe that there is a genuine SBNTADV anywhere on this planet, then he would probably truly believe in the "Easter Bunny" and the "Tooth Fairy".

What? IH built a B-N in 1953? Let's keep quiet about it, lest 'ol Akmed finds out about it.

Last week on ebay a guy was selling an "M" farmall and it had the hoods off it and the grill was white, the big 400 or 450 engine had a live pump on it, and the gas tank, that would be under the hood, was a big square one like the 400 or 450. Also had the hydraulic levers up on the right side of the dash. I bid on it, but didn't get it, didn't really want it, but it only went for about 1500 I think. Not a bad price for a 400-450-M.
