My propane gauge is not working. I have been told one of the two values is a reserve value to allow you to get back to the house when empty. Can anyone tell me which value is the reserve valve. Thanks.

Out, No such thing. The tank is a common area for the lpg. The valves refer to what type of fuel are delivering to the carb. Either liquid or vapor!
Depending on the air temp on the day you need to move the tractor, (pick a warm day) so what is left will vaporize even more.
Get loose of the implement at hand. Crank the engine, let it idle, Shift into 4 and let the clutch out, E A S I L Y, and take off. Eas the throttle up till you loose power and stop accelerating, They drive to the nurse tank as speedly as possible, If you can slip it into 5th gear and do not tary around. On a hot day you should get a mile or two if you keep throttleing back a shade, as she keeps looseing power. Hope this helps.
Later,
John A.

Out, Yes I would open both valves. to deliver the most vapor to the carb as possible.
The reason for both valves is to deliver fuel to the carb. When the engine is cold, open the vapor to start aand run till the engine reaches operating temp.
After the engine temp is up, the H20 is hot enough to start vaporizing the liquid fuel, to vapor in the vaporizer.
Hope this helps.

John A.
PS. My email is open, If you want we can swap phone #s and I can explain how to fill a 5 gal bottle and you and fill in the field and then go home for a full fill up.

My first LP was the MM 4 star I got. The last owner told me to always open both valves all the time and that one was a return vapor line. My super M is set up much the same. Shows how much I know about LP. I didn't know you only ran it with one valve open. FWIW that 4 star lets you know in a hurry the fuel is low. It dies and get's dragged back by my super c to get refueled! It will die with a little liquid still left in the tank sometimes when it's cold out.
