You guys got me into this so keep up the help. New sleeves, pistons, rings, pins are going in. But before that, we need to get those old sleeves out. Bought a length of 3/4 inch grade 8 continuous threaded rod/wheel lug nuts and washers. Now off to the machine shop to get a puck made. Just need the demensions. For an H Was thinking of 5/8 inch thick stock, 13/16 hole in center. What is good O.D. ANd should it have a rabbet cut around the outside top surface. Say maybe 1/8 inch height and 1/4b" in horizontal to keep it centered? TIA Gordo-SD

I just took one of the new sleeves to the machine shop and told them what I needed and let them size everything for me.

GOOD LUCK

I usually weld a bead down the sleeve with a mig machine and they fall out , or will push out with little pressure

If your cylinder bore is 3.375" the puck should be
undercut to 3.355" and the outside diameter of the puck to 3.575" so it will clear the block bore. This should give enough metal contact against the lip of the sleeve. Even 3.55" as someone has suggested would be enough. Undercutting only .250" is enough to keep the puck centered when pulling the sleeve. Hal

The puller that I used came out to be 3.55" in diameter by 0.75" thick. 5/8" stock should be plenty. I think that the hole in the block is 3 5/8". A rabbet on the top of the puck would help to get it lined up initially.

I think Hal said awhile back that puck would go up inside 1/2" for centering I beleve the out side would be 3 and 9/16 diam so maybe a few thousands under that would slide easier.
