Read your story about your 450 Diesel experiences. You may know the answer to my problem. I have a W450D that will continue to burn the gas from the gas tank after switching to diesel. I had a knowledgeable mechanic friend remove and clean the carburator, but it still does it. We think the linkage is OK, but don"t know for sure. What do you suggest? Thanks. Dale in WI

Well if the needel valve in the cab is doing its thing like it should and the switch over linkage is wright and the starting valves are closeing then no gas should able to get into the engine once it is on the diesel cycle . That i have never run into , there is always something new that takes some tracking down .

There is a lever that is supposed to seat the float valve in the carburetor when you switch to diesel.

And I believe the linkage is behind the manifold and near impossible to access. Maybe the cotter pin holding the linkage fell out and dropped a part of the linkage.
