I need to remove the starter on Cmore to replace the small gear..bendix?? Is it as simple as it seems, remove the cable, after removing the battery, remove the two bolts, and out she comes?? Or, is there more to it? How easy is it to get back in and lined up? Thanks much, Cmore

There is no lining up to do. The starter will only fit one way. Like you said, disconnect the battery and starter cables. Remove the two bolts. It should either fall right out or pop free with a little wiggling. Just reverse the process putting it back in. I took mine off of one of my C's a couple of years ago. Took it to a good electrical repair shop and had it checked out. They can test the windings and replace any necessary parts. It would be a good time to check the ring gear. If you have somebody to help you, one of you can turn the motor over with the hand crank while the other watches the ring gear. Or you can put it 4th gear and rock the tractor and watch the ring gear as the motor rolls over. If memory serves me right the starter engages the ring gear in about the same place most of the time. Replacing the ring gear will entail splitting the tractor. A whole different discussion.

And a badly worn ring gear will chew up a new bendix gear in a heartbeat.
