I have a Farmall 450 that the power steering works well if the engine is running slow and works real well if the engine is running fast and one of the hydraulic levers is under a load. But, if the engine is running fast and the hydraulics are not used it hardly helps steer? Does anyone here have experiance and possibly a fix for this? I have replaced the screen in the sump and the fluid is new. And the hydraulic system works well on a loader and does"nt make any whining noises. Thanks Bobcat

It could be a sitcking flow divider or there is a plug between the mine valve body that could be working its way out , it's been awhile since i have been into one .

I have had the same problem. I piped in a flow divider valve into the system and now my power steering works. Once the flow divider on the tractor gets worn there isn't much you can do but pipe a flow divider into your system.
