Being from the midwest what is the LP tank layout on a factory SMTA? Does it look anything like a factory 400 LP? Thanks for your help.

960, The Tank on a SMTA-LP is the same basic design only as far as it being a longwise tank, with the steering rod going through it.
The 400/450 tank had the Fill/Vapor valves faceing the LH side and the Liquid/Vapor, on/off fuel line valves faceing the rear.
The Fill/Vapor, Liquid/Vapor on/off fuel valve is a mono valve setup at the 11:00 o'clock position (while sitting on the seat)
Is is the oppisite as to the SM Stage I & II. Which had the crosswise tank with the rear faceing valves. Hope this helps. Hollar back if I can be of assistance.
Later,
John A.
