I am in the process of hooking up my blade to my Cub. I am thinking of getting chains cuz i don't want to load them up with calcium. Where would i get chains for it? I don't plan on doing a lot of snow, just want to play...cleaning the pad off in front of out chicken barn. Or would i be better off with Calcium? or both?

I made chains for my cub out of two sets of car chains. Work great and are not so heavy that you bounce all over on hard surfaces. I push snow, and have a 200# weight on the drawbar, and wheel weights. It will almost spin the tires in low gear on good ground.

Hey FarmallMan,

I Have both on tractor tread type tires and if you are going on a flat fine but trying to back up on any grade forget it. I cant tell you what it would be like without calcium but the chains made a heck of a difference.

It would be on a concrete pad, nothing hard. I just hate doing it with the shovel and it is not worht getting the JD 7210 with the big blade over. Where could i get chains from? Thanks

A machinery dealer... A tire shop... If you want to buy locally, just look in the book, your local yellow pages.

There is also tirechains.com, or you can type "tractor tire chains" into a google search...
