I fixed mine (so it can"t be too hard). I unbolted the seat by taking off the four 5/16 nuts and I could get to everything pretty easy. I did not replace the dust seal, just the large O-ring, which is in the cylinder that the ram goes in. It wasn"t a bad job at all, of course I"m sure the Vet is right, it would be a lot tighter with a cab.
Good luck
Paul

Not to hard of a job on a noncab tractor can be a bear on a cab tractor as they are heavy, it helps to remove the cushion and back rest . Probably needs new packing and seal.

Thanks guys, It does have a cab. I think I am going to try to fix it. Will keep you updated on the out come. Also have you heard of Allied Precision T/A"s and their other products? This tractor has a Precision Allied hydraulic sending unit and the two filter extension. I was told it has an heavy duty T/A. Are they a good product?

Thanks,
John

I"m sure you can fix that seat. There"s not much worse than the stink of hyd. oil in the cab on a hot summers day. I don"t know anything about Allied Precision. Why don"t you post that question again, so it is on page 1. There are a lot of IH guys on here that are pretty sharp.
Good luck with the seat.
Paul
