I cannot figure this out. The serial number plate on my farmall shows this. Model: SM
Serial: F-50307NJ
I am trying to get an overhaul kit for it yet I am not sure which engine it has. In reviewing past postings it says that a super m engine is a C-264 yet it says the number of the egine for an M starts with FBKM. Well the number on my engine is: FBKM 106093
So therefore I am royaly confused. Please help!!

Your tractor originally had a Super M C-264 LPG engine. It now has an M engine, as noted by the prefix FBKM. The prefix for a SM engine is C-264.

Looks life you have a SMLP that someone has put
maybe a 46 M engine or at least the block in. Casting # on block at right rear below head is
356980 R1 on super block. If block cylinder dia. is
close to 4 1/8 inch with sleeves removed you will
need M parts if you use it.

The # 6722 DH is a casting # for a M block. You have M block bore size also.Look on your crankshaft for a 5 didgit part #,off top of head
i think 57771 but don't hold me to that.Anyway if the end of part# ends wirh DA,DB or DC thats a small journal crank that most M used.If # ends with DD or DE you have large journal crank.DD was used in late M also.

Ser. on the tag do not always correspond with the engine ser.. I have never seen them the same on an M,SM, but the H has always matched, at least the ones I have owned do. This discussion has come up before, check the archives. Good luck, Andy
