I've got a problem I hope you guys can help me with. My dad bought a 574 International a couple of years ago and when I was getting ready to do some work with it over the weekend I noticed that the differential lock is stuck. Does anyone know how to fix this problem short of taking it to the dealer and spending a fortune. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks

Clark

Do you mean it's stuck with the wheels locked together, or that you can't push the pedal/button?

A stuck pedal is a matter of hosing the linkages and pivot points down with penetrating lube for several days in a row, and leaving it sit. The lube will eventually work its way in, then you can gently work the pedal loose.

It"s stuck with the wheels locked together. I"ve tried pulling up on the pedal and it won"t budge. I haven"t tried prying on the pedal because I was afraid that I would make things worse. I"m pretty sure that Dad has lubed everything up good, but I"ll spray some penetrating oil around the shaft and try prying the pedal up. If we"re going to have to tear it down to fix it right anyway, I don"t think I can do much to make it worse. Thanks for the help!

Mine sticks on my 584. I have to pry it up with a bar. Its suppose to release by backing up. You will have to tare it down to fix right.

Hi, does the differentiel lock is stuck lock or it doesn't lock. Check the pedal for free movement, it have a shaft that actuate the lock fork, the shaft is below the hitch cover and the link from the pedal hook on it. Often it have rust on the shaft where it turn on the rear housing. Try to spray a good lube or you may have to lift the cover and remove the shaft and clean it. Bernard le mécano Québec Canada
