My 460U tag is unreadible except for the serial number. OEM Tractor Parts sells a 2 line tag for "1955 and newer" that appears to be similar. Their tags are sometimes shipped scratched and sometimes the holes don't match. When I replace mine, I will get one from Dr. Robert G. Diener, PE, Morgantown, WV--304-599-4027. He says to call before removing your old tag. Never dealt with him, but his ad in RPM "sounds" authenic. He has either worked for IH or for some reason knows the difference between tags.

I dont know why somebody doesnt offer a decal overlay to restore the printed material on a serial tag,and to maintain the original stampings of the Serial #.No rivets needed!

I believe this is the guy who even knows what the original stamps were, as IH used more than one--if it is the tag will be authentic. He will probably also tell you how to remove and install the rivets. OEM's rivets didn't fit my Super H, and I had to drill the holes, which I really did not want to do.
