Found at local dealer a nice, relatively clean Farmall 350 rowcrop. Did not get the year. I turned the key and she fired right up...ran great. Looks pretty good too...good rubber, etc. Wanted to know your opinions on this tractor...what should I look for when I go back to look at again. How do I know if the T/A is out or weak? Any other common problems on these tractors that I should be looking for? This is a bare tractor...any ideas on a fair price range? Not show quality, but well kept. Thanks in advance.

If the Farmall 350 is as good as the International 350U, it's one darn fine tractor. My utility does about twice as much as I think it should be capable of, and does it without any nasty surprises for the most part. They are a bit of a gas hog, but horsepower = fuel consumption, and there's not much you can do to change that equation.

DO YOU WANT MY OPINION BRIAN Quit wishing for SNOW Or get your but down here to Hannibal and start doing my Plowing. The syracuse weather man said we are going into the same patteren as last January as far as the jet stream goes for the first half of March. And you Guys from the North better quit forgetting to close the gates and snow fences. On another Note whinning is a not good sign for a TA Usally means Ramp and Roller problems. JON

Now - why would I wanna close the gates on the snow fence? It's about the only good thing about that darn North wind is that it blows all the snow south!

I've only had to neaten up the driveway twice with the back blade, and haven't even mounted the front plow yet. Hope it stays that way til after sugaring!

One other thing I forgot, the brakes can be a pain at times. They have to be taken apart and cleaned regularly. Dirtr and rust opn the little balls and ramps will keeep them from working right.

Dad bought one new and it was our main tracotr for years. It had a fast hitch, and we pulled a 3-16 mouonted plow with it. As for the TA, we neverhad any toruble with ours. One of the secrets is to keeep it adjusted per the book, and when you move the lever, don't ease it in and ot of low range. grab the lever and pull into low, or squeeze the handle and let it go to go into hi range. They don'tlike to be slipped. Also, change the hy-tran in the transmission every year or so. This will help keep the TA working good. For its size it did a good job for us. Not as torquey as an M but not a bad tractor.

check the ta by shifting it into both hi and low and step on the brakes. see if the clutch will slip when the ta is engaged
