Well the neighbours thought we should take the sleds for a run before the snow is all gone and since my insurance was almost $300 and the trail permit was $ 220 I agreed that we should, left at 10 AM and got back at 4:30, stopped for lunch for an hour or so. Trails were great, met two groomers, lots of other sledders. I guess the cost of the trail permits is worth it. Here in Ontario everyone must belong to a club and local clubs arrange with farmers and land owners to have a trail cross their property, it is then marked and groomed. Benefit to the farmer/land owner is that people don't ride all over where they don't belong, they stay on the trails where it is safe, groomed and marked. Maps are provided and trails are given numbers, we were on 118B for most of yesterday, you can go anywhere in Ontario on the trails ,into Quebec and to our nation's capital in Ottawa. It works very well and brings money into small communities( 5 of us left almost $200 in one small town where we ate and gassed up)Today there were about 75 sleds sitting outside a local pub here in Exeter.. I enjoy it but couldn't do it two days in a row. Curious, how are snowmobilers handled where you live(assuming snowmobile country). More information can be obtained from Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs.

Mike:
Sounds like you had a great time yesterday. I shouldn't have sold my sled last year :-(
