high compression vs. flat top pistons

I'm overhauling my 1946 Farmall A and when I took the engine apart I found M&W high compression pistons. I had thought the C113 on the A came with flat top pistons. When I go to order new pistons and sleeves is there any problem with staying with the high compression pistons or should I go back to flat top pistons? Am I wrong for thinking the flat top pistons will give me better service life? The tractor will only be used for parades and tractor drives and the like.

Thanks,

Dave

What you need to remember is that your talking about a 60 year old tractor they rebuilt them alot in the 60s and 70s so thats why you have M&W pistons They were the best for the times. You will not hurt performance at all in my opionion putting high compression back in it. JON
