I just learned from my Son in Maine that my Grandson has officially "Hit the beach" in the good old U.S. of A. after completing his 2 year hitch in Iraq. It was a much more uplifting phone call than the one I recieved from him a couple of months ago when my Son called to say that the Mess Hall in Mosul in which My Grandson had just left 10 minutes before hand had just been hit by enemy fire killing 14 of his comrades. I hadn"t slept a full night uninterrupted since, and the anxiety level was one I can"t begin to explain. To know that he has returned safe and sound is, in my opinion, a testament to the power of prayer, as only by God"s grace do some of us get our heros back while others must endure unending and unimaginable grief. I know that to everyone else, he is probably just another soldier who was doing his job, and that may will be correct, because I also see him in that light, but he also is someone I love with all my heart, and the fact that he came back from harm"s way is cause for much celebration, at least in this household. It sure is going to make tinkering with the old Iron, and farming a lot more enjoyable this year.

Paul, and all other with loved one over fighting, not only are the soliders our heros, but the family member are also. I can't imagine, when I look at my two boys, 13 and 11, thinking that they may be involved and how I would never sleep. I tell myself it is for a good cause, freedom is not free and those who secure this country are always on my high list. When you see them in the street, store or any place, thank them and shake their hands. Good news Paul, thank God.

my son is on his way home, after being there over a year. every time you hear the news and they say we were attacked and lost a soldier, it was like putting a knife in your gut.if the phone rang during the middle of the night, your insides would knot up.i"ll be glad when he is back home in northern new hampshire. my prayers will still be with the men and women over there. they all need our support.so paul tell your grandson that we are all so very proud of him. glenn

Paul, Down here (just a stones throw from the Main Gate @ Fort Hood, Texas) Our troops are not just a # to us. We hear and feel all news on our Guys & Gals in all the branches, any time something happens.
Please tell your Son & Daughter-in-Law, we are proud of Him too, and just as relieved, that he is home. Tell that special grand-son of your Thank you! from us civilians here in the Lone Star.
As always we will continually ask the Lord for His guidence, direction, & watch-care on all of them.
Later,
John A.

Good news Paul. I salute these fine young people. We went to Chicago 2 weeks ago for Our Grandsons grad.from the Naval base there. 894 grads, very sharp looking procedure. Quite a decission that these young people make.Very hard to see this Grandson go off as we lost his 20 yr old brother last July to cancer. Very hard to get over.
