Just wondering what type of overhaul kit to go with for a 1950 H w/ hi comp. pistons. What do you guys use. I heard Tisco has mixed some of the kits around so you dont get everything the same. I need the whole kit pretty much, pistons, rings, liners, pins and bushings, rods and mains, front and rear seals etc.. Any other manufacturers that you all know and trust?? Thanks, Andy

I have had great luck with Tisco parts!!I have a A and a B running on them and the A has at last 300 miles on it and a bunch of Plowing time and the B might be pulling this summer.

My Case-IH dealer sells Tisco -- just be sure and confirm what comes with them. You might try to purchase locally, so if anything goes wrong, it's the dealers fault. Federl Mogul/Sealed Power is where the kit for my 460 came from.

I sell and use a lot of Tisco kits, and have yet to have any problems with them. I can get you A&I, Tisco or Howard. If you want some prices, email me and I will price all three for you. sound as though you are looking for an out of frame rebuild kit, it has all that you need to remove engine and do a complete overhaul. As for the mixed some of the kits around, I have never seen them do it, they might, but they have been an excellant company for me.

Very timely post for me as I just pulled the pistons from my H this am. They are marked 366870-R1B on top. Also the atamp "CAN 716" or "CAN Z16". Have the IH logo on the side. I miked them out at close to 3 7/16. Some bozo had put the wrong compression rings in the top of one piston. It's groove is shot. All the rings on it need replacement. The rest look good as do the liners. I'm working on an in frame rebuild. Would like to get just this one piston, pin, retainer, all four rings and the rod bearing. Can anyone help me out with this "partial rebuild" kit? Gordo

I got mine from A & I. Everything worked very well and the engine runs like a new one. If you want me to get you a price...just let me know. These kits were the most bang for the buck and I checked on a lot of them...Hope this helps.....

I am very interested in prices from A&I and firecrater. This is an out of frame kit and its leaving a bad taste in my mouth so far. Thanks for all the replies. Bluffton is the closest A&I dealer to me,will they sell to me for these prices or do they need a cut? Thanks, Andy

Hi Andy. I dont know what you mean by these prices As An A&I dealer I have my cost and the list and I can actually mark up list also.I will give you a price but your dealer in your area probly wont be able to touch it. I beleve I could also drop ship from your closest wharehouse. Its like anything else I can knock off a persentage from list to get bussiness its just who will knock off the most to get your bussiness. I unlocked my email above. JON
