Well I notice that some of the fellers here want this to be a pure technical, how-to, information only board, but I wanted to voice my opinions..

#1--There are a lot of things not 100% related to Farmall technology that have an effect on many of our daily lives. Many of us get comfortable with the fellas who we talk to about tractors, and thus this is the first place we turn when we want to rejoice, or confide, or just vent. Is that a complete violation of the board? No, I don't think so. I think that as long as you can read in the title what the post is about (or know what kind of posts typically come from a certain poster), you should be able to accurately select what you do/don't want to read. #2--Allan and Hugh---please don't make a bunch of us beg for you both to just keep on keepin on. You both have a lot to bring to this table...and we respect you both highly.
I don't care for personal attacks here...and I am sure neither of you do either....so let's just agree to disagree from time to time, and let this board be the rich environment it has grown in to.

I NOW PRONOUNCE IT TIME TO GET BACK TO WHAT MADE THIS BOARD GREAT IN THE FIRST PLACE. FARM/COUNTRY/TRACTOR related stuff from guys who prefer red tractors.

Wow...I was away from the site for a few days, and it looks like I missed a lot of action! ;-)

I just wanted to add my two cents -- three years ago, I didn't know a thing about engines, trannies or tractors in general. Today, I still have a lot to learn, but I've successfully restored a C to parade condition, a 400D to working condition, and I'm hip deep in an M right now. This has become not just a hobby for me, but it helps keep me sane. I wouldn't have been able to do what I've done, or learn what I've learned, without this board and its members. All things being equal, I'd just as soon see someone post a mental musing here and there without being terribly concerned over appropriateness. It's pretty easy to hit the back button on the browser when I find something not relevant to me.

Thanks to all,

- David

Thanks Brian. I am likely to post most anything around my friends, except politics and religion including opinions on torque specs and oil (a religion in itself to some)

Hi Brian,

Oh heck! Hugh is out on the road 'til mid morning and I'm just busy scroungin' for old IH parts. :>)

Just found this old part from a really nice guy I met here on this forum.

And don't you guys start throwin' rocks at me for liking these boxes either. LOL!

Allan

Allan, good to see you changed your mind. I won't say a word about that obviously OLD tool box. Now if we could just get ol' Akmed to come back in here.

Ya I kinda miss ole Akmed too. He just hasn't been the same since I call the tech line on getting a satalite system hooked up and got hold of him in Bangmydash and recognized his voice. Just want him to know that I have no hard feelings about him not taking me up on my offer to come to this country of mine and bring me all his family to help to herd the cows. He is still my good best friend from not here. Good grief, now I'm even sounding like him. :-) Later, Harley

'Ol Akmed must really get around, pretty sure it was him I talked to when I called the Gateway help line.

Ya he can't seem to hold a job very long, but it shows he's not a quitter. Harley
