I am searching for an engine block for an IH 806. I think the tractor was manufactured in maybe 1959-60? I was told that the engine was assembled in Germany? Any suggestions? Are there other engine blocks that will bolt up? Thank you.

The block cracked at some point before we bought it in the early seventies. The owner had it welded(I guess brazed(spelling?) and promised it not leak. Well it made it about 30 years and finally cracked again (no complaints). A friend of the family tried to re-braze it and the crack only got worse. The crack is now about 3 inches long and you can see light through the 1/4" wide hole. We have it stripped down and in half in the middle of the garage. The block we thought would work didn't "match up". What a bind. We have found a guy who puts them in an oven to get the block to the right temperature and then starts the welding. We hear this is the only way to do it right. We would rather just find another block. Thanks for your time.
