I've got a set of round spoke wheels for my 1937 Farmall F-20. I went out to measure the rear rims and got the measurement of 39 inches tall and 10 inches wide. I measured from rim to rim and both measurements. I've heard of 36 inch rims but never 39 inch rims. What the heck do I have or am I measuring the wrong locations. I need educating so I can order new tires. Thanks.

I may have answered my own question. I remeasured my rims and measured the bottom portion of the rim and got my 36 inches. I"m quessing my rim is only 8 inches wide. Hopefully someone still sells the old style tires.

You found it- the place to measure on a rim is the bead seat area, not the outer diameter of the rim flange. On a tire, you'd measure from the innermost point of the tire bead.

Thanks fellas, always appreciate the help. Howard, thanks for the link they seem to have some good prices. I"ll give them a call. With my rim being around 8 inches wide what size tire should I get. I"ve heard that the older tractors had narrow rims and used a wider tire. Should I get a 12 inch wide tire?

Thanks Howard, I'll get a set ordered up. I need to get ready for the Old Threshers Reunion in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa this fall.
