I'am looking for help on removing and unhooking a hydralic pump for a Farmall H tractor.I was wanting to take this pump out so that i am able to replace the clutch that has become stuck from setting in the shed. Is there a possible way to remove this pump without splitting the tractor? any information to help me is welcome and greatly appreciated. thank you.

The repair manual from IT pub. has simple directions for making a pair of "T" handles, that fit into the slotted holes in the bottom of the pump. I have used these and they work great (it does take two people tho--one on each side). I have also used a automotive type transmission jack.

The pump is heavy, and is somewhat harder to get back in then out (aligning the filler pipe).

It's not hard to get that pump out. But it is heavy. I've read a lot of different ways to do it on this site; I think the safest and least backstrain is the way Kelly C and I did, putting a cradle under it, supporting the cradle from above, lowering it (and raising it back) with complete control

Jerry,

The thing drops right out the bottom of that torque tube. Kinda heavy.

You do not have to remove the pump to free the clutch. On my H there is a cover under the clutch. Remove the cover, take every other pressure plate to flywheel bolt out. There are 3 or 4 threaded holes in the pressure plate. Install the bolts in the threaded holes this takes the pressure off the clutch disc. I installed longer bolts in the remaining pressure plate bolts, this allowed me to pry off the clutch disc which on my tractor was stuck to the pressure plate. When I reassembled the bolts I had a wooden block to keep ressure off the clutch pedal. When I park the tractor I put in the block to keep pressure of the clutch. This has worked fine for years.
