Hi, I have come across a Woods L306 6' Belly Mower, and I'd like a consensus of opinion on what you guys think. I can put it either on my H or my BN. I think I'd rather put it on the BN, but I don't know if it has enough horsepower for it. The BN does need a cylinder/sleeve set (it doesn't have a lot of compression and smokes) so I could put the bigger and higher compression pistons in it. Do you guys think the BN would have the power to run the six foot mower deck? Thanks, Paul.

I have one on a BN. I use it for a finish mower on about 3.5 Ac. It is great around trees and flower beds. I mow in 3rd gear with no problem. As a matter of fact, it is so fast that I do not get enough seat time. Keep the belt tight! I run mine off the belt pulley. I bought mine second hand and had to modify the mounting brackets to make it fit so I could get the belt tight enough. I also have an H. It's length makes it harder to manuver in tight spots.

I have a Woods 306 mower on a my H. I use it to mow the lanes and road sides with. It works good and has never been short of power. The BN would work better if you had any trees to mow under.

The H would certainly have more power, but the BN would be more manueverable. To me, it depends on what kind of cutting you want to do with it. If you are looking to do finish cutting, not bush hogging, the BN should handle it nicely.

If you rebuild the BN with oversized, high compression pistons, it'll have more power, but then again, the smoke helps to keep the mosquitos down ;)
