I have a few shellers that are operated by good old fashion brute muscle. I'm looking for a corn sheller that uses a belt pulley that will hook up to my F-series tractors. My arms are getting tired and thought it would look neat at shows. What are some shellers that will work, and how much and where's a good place to look for one or two. With all of my searching I haven't come across one yet. Don't see this stuff much.

Well, most of the 2-hole shellers were belt driven units as they were higher capacity. Still, most of the single-hole units had an optional pulley that could be bolted to the regular flywheel and used instead of the hand crank (ever notice how lots of the hand cranks are easily removable?). If you don't have or can't find an optional bolt-on pulley, you can usually get away with runnin a 2" wide flat belt around the rim of the big flywheel but this greatly decreases the speed of the unit. However, that can also be a benefit as it gives you more time to run through that batch of corn so more people get to see it running. All in how you look at it.

If you are looking to purchas another unit to shell off of the tractor, check out most any of the old wooden box units, or some of the JD units as they had mounting brackets on the flywheel for the optional pulley if i'm not mistaken and they are fairly common.

Good to know Jeb, thanks for the information. I thought the sheller would be alittle tipsy. I'll give it a try. Where would I find a two inch belt?
