230 Update and...The Purple Martins Are Back!!!

Thanks for everyone's advice on the 230. Sure enough, after checking continuity, had a bad connection at the points/condenser hook-up point inside the distributor. Cleaned it up, had spark at points with switch on, old girl fired right up on about the first quarter turn of the starter. It's amazing how little things can stump you. Thanks again for everyone's input. And, later on, I heard & saw my first pair of Purple Martins soaring around this evening! The little scamps, they are a day early! First sure sign of spring to me. Good to hear that 230 purring and the Martins chirping! Happy Farmalling to all!

You must be in the deep south. Here in East Tenn, it's two more months before the barn swallows show up. Amazing the build in calendars in those birds. Last summer, though they were late leaving for some reason, some staying nearly a week longer than the normal August 15 departure date.
