i have a 544 international utility with a marvel-schebler on it but i cant get enought gas through it. I cleaned the tank.checked fuel line found a small kink in it fixed that. new fuel pump cleaned carburator and rebuilded it. rised and lower float . thinking about a new carburator i found two different kinds that fit. one is a marvel-schebler and zenith carburator which carburator is the best. one is a little more but it might be money well spent. thanks again clay

Clay100@yahoo:

Marvel's are a good carburator, but in this application I would go with the Zenith. I found that the larger M/S carbs had a small jet which is located in the fuel shutoff soleniod and unless things have changed, you can not find them except by using another carb to part out. Jet part #404156R1. I Think whay happens is guys change out the solenoid without knowing about this little jet and they get tossed. Hardly any of the cores I got in had the jets with them. Other than that though, Marvel's are indestructible.

Clay,First you must assure the fuel delivery problem is solved.Otherwise the same problem could still be there after the new carb is put on.Sorry I dont have a better answer but thats my thoughts when reading your post.
