I have an IH 826. I am about to start restoring it and need some small items such as fuel lines and such.
My problem is that I don't know the exact year it was made. I also need to know what type of PTO it has.
The stamp on the block is 3055005R3. The serial # on the metal plate is 2510148U014913* with a model # of F826. What does the "F" indicate?

Thanks,
Monty

There was only one type of PTO used on the 826, which was a fully-independent, hydraulic engaged unit, but it could be had with just the 1000 RPM output shaft, or with both the 1000 and the 540 shafts. It's easy to tell the difference. If you've got the 540/1000 unit, as most of them do, you'll see two shafts sticking out the back of the PTO unit. The serial number is acually 14913, that 2510148U just some sort of code signifying that it is an IH tractor built in the US, or somthing along that line. "F" means it's a Farmall Row-Crop, an "I" would have signified an International Standard or Utility tractor.

Thanks for the information gentlmen. I couldn't find a site that provided the serial # info for the 826 anywhere.

Again, thanks for the responses.
