Heard on the news this morning about a guy who had his coffin painted green and lined with yellow. He had his 1950 JD pull him to the cemetary. They played engine noise during the service.
Goes to show, Green power will kill ya!

About 5-6 years ago there was a local man in his mid thirties that passed away. From what I can't remember. However he was a big tractor fanatic and loved farming. His family got in contact with the local farmers in our area and invited them to drive their tractors to the cemetary from the church where his funeral was held. My dad and I had the fortune of being asked to be a part of this tribute. The cemetary was about five miles from the church and we had tractors of all makes and models there. From our old H and M up to brand new cabbed tractors. It was very fiting with his casket being pulled to the cemetatry by one of his relatives with his families 544. There must have been at least 25 tractors. It was a sight to see and something that I will never forget being a part of.

There was an item here year or so back - 'bout a farmer who was carried to the cemetary on a flat bed trailer pulled by his favorite Farmall. Pallbearers were all dressed in bib overalls. Think that was out of Ohio.

Local funeral director contacted us a while back, wanted to borrow a John Deere A, for a funeral. Story was that the farm wife (the deceased) had hitch-hiked out to the Deere factory to get a tractor for her husband and their farm. This was war time, and tractors were hard to get. She got to the factory, was allowed to see the management. They got on the phone, and found one for her in Lansing Michigan, at a dealer. She got back to Lansing, and insisted on riding the truck from the dealer to the farm for the delivery. One tough farm lady - wouldn't take "NO" for an answer. they wanted to display a Deere at the church as part of the funeral. We didn't have what they needed, but was able to direct furneal director to a friend who had what they wanted. My hats off to her memory.

Just wondering what the sounds of a "stalled tractor engine" could be?

I can imagine the sounds of a "farmer with a stalled tractor engin" .

Hmm...thinking that most of those sounds might not be appropriate for a funeral though... :<(

Beleive it not, I have already made it known to my family, that even if I retire from collecting tractors and give up this hobby all together, Im to be buried in just such a casket! Cept mine will have "M" on it instead of "H". Wife says NO, but it will be red with white lining. I think my brother will sneak in and put the decals on for me!
