I have noticed the last month or so that I need a lot more throttle to get the same power I had last winter with less throttle. I was out plowing the driveway last night, the S A went right thru a foot of heavy wet snow as good as always, steady and strong, but seems like I gotta put the throttle all the way forward. What would be the cause of that condition??
Thanks to all.

You can't even compare one snowfall to another, much less those in different years. May well be nothing wrong.

Is it close to Valentine’s Day or something with all the references to heart around here?

Seriously, it sounds like a broken spring on the rod by the governor, lessening the amount of pull that the throttle is exerting on the governor.

Hi Scotty,

German, who's German? Oh, guess I am, come to think of it, but how could you tell?

Nice to know that someone agrees with me once in a while :>)

Bill - Could also be it's just particularly heavy snow. If the stuff you pushed last night is the same as what fell here in western NY, it's about the density of mashed potatoes. And pushing a foot of that is sure to make your SA snort a little!

I've noticed I have to pull the throttle a lot harder myself to get the same amount of work done. My seat is better padded though.

Sloroll, the other day you refered to "it" as your heart. Today, you refer to "it" as the throttle. Go ahead and pull on it, we won't tell anyone.

Sounds like maybe the governor or the throttle linkage.

Or maybe she just needs some lovin....a carb rebuild, new plugs/wires, etc etc.
