We are having trouble figuring out how to get the injector cap off that is on top of the furl injector pump where the injector lines are mounted to. We have the injector lines off and the 4 bolts that hold the cap on the top of the pump, but the cap will still not come off?? Is there something internal in there or ?? THANKS ! 6 Cylinder IH Internation Diesel 986 Tractor.

Sounds like you don"t know what"s going on inside your pump, don"t go any farther. The head has to be timed to the pump and calibrated for your tractor. You are just wasting your time, save the money in the long run and take the whole pump somewhere. Trust me I worked on those pumps for several years, unless you"ve done it before, take it to a fuel shop.

if you dont know you are better off not taking it off, side plate wires, 2 screws pull out, linkage from gov, hold down screw and head will lift out of pump, line up 2 sets of timeing marks
