My neighbors Farmall B, when the throttle is at idle, the governor rod has lots of play. How does this affect the tractors performance and what can be done to fix the problem. he has replaced all the springs. My A in this position, the governor rod is tight (won"t move without pressure) thanks bill

I take the gov housing off and put washers on the inside of the shaft coming from the throttle tostop all the side play or rebush the hole. I have lathe and milling machine so it is easy for me. You need the correct springs on the throttle rod that hooks to the gov lever. Check the thrust bearing when apart. To set linkage correct with engine off lever that goes to the carb move the clevis to the carb so the pin goes back in holding the carb open full throttle.
