In my experience as an IH mechanic I"ve learned that you must fill the Roosa Master pump with fuel to get a quick start up. Just remove the check valve from the top of the pump cover and pour in some fuel until full. Be careful about cleanliness around the area and the container you use to pour in the fuel. Also loosen line nuts at the injector, then when there is fuel tighten them. Now if it does not start but there is smoke the pump may be 180* out of time. There is a punched indention on the pump shaft and one in the slot inside the pump, they must be in register to be in time, you can only see this with the pump removed.

If you used you old fitting that threads into the top of the pump make sure that isn't plugged. It will not run with the retun plugged. If thats fine then loosen the injector lines at the injectors and crank it.

I have a 1206 serial number register going with over 300 on file. Would you mind passing your serial number along with at least the general location. Thanks!

I don't know anything about IH 1206s, but I did all the injection pump work for a Deere dealer. If you have a distributor Roosamaster/Stanadyne pump - like a DB model, or DB2 - it will either have a manual shut-off or an electric shut-off. Manual - the throttle lever has to be in the correct position. If electric, you need power to the solenoid to run. Other than that, along as the pump is actually turning, and getting fuel into it, it should pump. It can bleed itself. If you are sure about the shut-offs, mabye you ought to pull the timing window off and peek in while cranking - and make sure the pump is turning.
