Old IHC Corn Sheller

I am restoring an old one hole all steel hand crank IHC corn sheller that has been in my family since new.

It has a belt pulley that powers a small fan inside the sheller and a steel chute or pan that is fairly long with a rippled oyster shell style end.
Does anyone out there know what model this might be, and when it may have been built?

Thanks for any information provided.

IH used wooden runners and such prior to 1920. After that they went to the all metal shellers. Check out the large IH encyclopedia . You can probably match it to one of the pictures. Mine is called a PONY.

I have a one hole all steel hand crank model. What I think is the model number on that one is stenciled on with white paint, SP 9 E.

I have a picture in 1920 catalog of International "All Steel Corn Sheller". It does not list model number but you can see part number 2004 cast on the crank handle which might be model number. Does this sound like yours? In the one hole shellers they had a "Wood & Steel Corn Sheller" and the "All Steel Corn Sheller". The one hole "All Steel" was still listed in the 1940 catalog with very few changes. Yours could be anywhere between 1920 and 1940 and probably a few years on each side.

Most of the single hole all-steel shellers were about the same, even the JD units and others. The small blower fan was usually driven off of the main shaft by means of a round leather belt similar to those used on the old singer sewing machines. You can still get them. Really not a whole lot to these old things. Just get them nice and snug (no loose, rattling parts flopping around) and have fun. YOu can even sling a 2" flat belt around the rim of the flywheel and run it off of an engine if it doesn't already have a belt pulley installed.
