Opa A, I just got all the parts I ordered for my governor rebuild. The governor rockshaft bushing was on backorder but my dealer got one from another dealer and is shipping it to me today. Is that the part you are having trouble getting?

Yep, was at the dealer yesterday getting all the other parts I ordered and he said would be at least March before he could get one. We did a dealer search up here, Alberta Canada, and could not find one. I told him to keep the backorder comming as I am just starting to reassemble starting at the back of the tractor, and it could be March by the time I need to assemble the governor. Thanks for the update. I also just ordered the pivot pins for the governor weights yesterday, 11 bucks each, ouch!

How much did that rockshaft cost? I need one but am almost afraid to try and price it from the dealer.

Thanks!!

Brian, it was the rockshaft bushing that I got rather than the rockshaft itself. The bushing cost me $16 and change (Canadian) but as I said in my other post - I am getting a machinist to make some more for me. I think you could get a machine shop to make the rockshaft also.
My problem now is the speed change lever, the opening in the body is worn oblong and I don't see a bushing for here. Got any ideas?

Guess you could find a bronze bushing at the hardware store and bore out the holt to fit it in.

I asked about the rockshaft arm as OEM tractor parts was selling these NOS for like $60 or something like that. It scared me to go to IH and price one.

Geez Brian, thats a he**uva price to pay. Maybe I should ask my new machinist buddy if he can make some? He is pretty laid back and casual and is a "one man shop". I'll maybe take him one of mine for a sample and see what he can do.

Hi Opa A
I see we are on common ground, I'm located in eastern Ontario, just outside of Arnprior and get most of my Farmall parts from Renfrew. They shipped the bushing down to the local Auto Parts Extra store today. When I got it I took it right over to a local machinist and he is going to make me some more! Let me know if you want an extra one

Whereabouts in Alberta are you? I was born and raised in Manning, Alberta!
I left my email open if you want to contact me.

Robbie
