My 460 gas tractor starts fine, and I let it get good and warm before I start off. The problem is after it works for a short while,it dies out. It starts right back up, but upon letting out the clutch, it dies again. When I let it cool way down it runs fine for a short while, then repeats the procedure. I am very perplexed and troubled over this situation.Any ideas please??

You could have restricted fuel flow, or your coil could be bad. But, it usually won't start immediately after dying if it's the coil, the coil needs to cool off some. You could have some crud in the fuel outlet of the tank, or need a new screen for your sediment bowl. The screen inside the fitting that screws into the carb, the same fitting that the fuel line screws into could be partially plugged. Or the carb itself might be dirty.

do you have 12 volt neg ground???
check the resistor above the coil and coil itself.

try leaving the choke out a little ways when you go and see if it keeps going. then you have crap in the carb.check all fuel filters and make sure you have a good ground cable and connection.
