I understand that an O-4 is an orchard series of the W-4 but what is is a "OS-4". The production data for the 4 series lists the following models:
O-4; OS-4; W-4; I-4 and Supers Production. Any info concerning the difference in the Orchard tractors would be appreciated. Also do you think $1250.00 is fair price for a OS-4 that runs and has fair tires. Thanks

OS means Orchard Super.

$1250 is way too high. Give me the phone number and I'll get it off the market pronto.

The OS4 Means Orchard special otherwise the same as the O4. There were roughly 1/2 as many OS4's made as compared to O4's It should have straight
exhaust going down and sound really good.Check the hand clutch out real close ,they usually work good, but can be a bugger to fix.Hope this helps

S is "Special" which I think just means an undressed Orchard. The O4 has the nice race car tin. The OS4 is low slung but not the fancy tin and the W4 is... A W4.

Boy was I wrong.

But it was a very old misconception I had.

I'd still buy the OS-4.
