Well, I fixed a problem with my hydraulics, but had the pump on and off so many times that my distributor position changed making my timing way off. I don't see a timing mark. I have rotated a few times but battery died trying. What's the best way to start off atleast close?

Thanks in advance for the input.

The others are correct, but there about HAS to be a timing mark on the flywheel. I do have an M that is missing the pointer, though.

just get number one piston at TDC on compression stroke and set the rotor to point to 2 o'clock. Points should be just starting to open.

Thanks... that is what I was basically trying to do, but doesn"t the piston come up to expell exhaust one revolution and to fire the next? If so, how will I know which stroke is correct?

The compression stroke should be much stronger. You should feel a definate difference.

Pull the #1 plug then put you thumb over the hole and feel for the compression stroke.

stick your finger in the spark plug hole while turning it over, you should be able to feel the compression.
