Which loader?

I'm new to the tractor world, but have recently acquired a 1964 IHC Farmall 340 Utility W/F. Right now it does not have power steering, but I'll be doing that soon. I'm wondering, does anyone have any input about which make and model front loader will fit on the 340?

Thank, J. Grosky

The IH 1701, 2000, and 2001 are about the most common for the 340. You do need to be very carful about what tractor the loader came off of, as the models I listed will also fit about 25 other IH's without even being close enough to fit a 340. To avoid making major modifications, get a loader that you know came off another 340. By the way, you say you've got a Farmall 340 Utility. A 340 could be a Farmall Row-Crop or an International Utility, but it can't be both. That's just another thing to watch out for when you're looking for the loader. Loader off of a Farmall might not quite fit a Utility perfect. Also, the 340 was built '58-'63, you might want to double-check your serial number.

Thanks for the replies.

K.B., I'm going to post a picture of the tractor in the photo gallery. Maybe you could look at it and tell me for sure what you think it is. I know the sheetmetal has Farmall on the sides, IH on the grill, and it has a 340 badge on the side.

thats a farmall 340 with a wide front, not an international utility. yours looks pretty straight. reverse in those 340s is very slow. i have a tricycle front end on mine.
