If you replaced all the parts before you tried to start it before, try putting the old condensor back on, new ones are sometimes defective -- happened to me once.

By chance did you put a a 6 volt coil on it?If you used a 12 volt coil, did you get one with a built in resistor?I personally have never burnt up a set of points on a 12 volt coil, and some will argue that point, but I have never burnt a set of points on a 12 volt coil with no resistor, but I use a 12 volt coil with a built in resistor on all my 12 volt conversions.Anyways, sounds like your coil is maybe the culprit.

An ignition resistor (ballast resistor) is ALWAYS used between the ignition switch and the coil, NEVER between the coil and the points.

do you have a wire going from the positive of coil to the start relay. need resistor between the coil and ign switch so you dont burn up the points. i wiil give you aa full layout of where everyhting goes if this does not work.

Hook a 12 Volt test light to the (-) primary coil terminal connected to the points, and crank the engine over with the ignition "ON". The test light should flash "ON" and "OFF" as the points open and close.

If the light NEVER comes on, you have no power to the coil, a bad coil, points that aren't opening or a short in the points/condensor area.

If the light never BLINKS OFF, you have an open circuit between the coil and the points, or dirty points that are not making contact.
