Hey guys,
The seal was shot for the belt pulley in my B, so I replaced it. Something there is STILL leaking! What would it be, and why?
I need to get this fixed for good. I've sold it, and he'll be wanting to pick it up soon. Thanks, David

I agree, it's most likely the spacer(tube). This is designed to be a wear part and is still available thru Case/IH. About $20 as I remember. You can put two seals in there also, which may help. There is an oil return hole in there also, at the bottom and just behind the spacer if I remember right. Having said all of that and done all of that mine still leaks a little. I think it must be leaking between the spacer and the shaft. Dave.

Could the oil be leaking between the spacer and the shaft? If it is, clean it up, and seal the spacer to the shaft with silicon.

As I recall, that seal runs on a spacer on the shaft. The spacer is held in place by the pulley. Is the spacer in place with no damage on the outside?

Same thing happened on my Super A, the spacer is held in place by the v belt pulley for my Woods mower, it does leak a little. On my C I removed the pulley because it cannot be used with my Saginaw 3 point. The spacer is held in place with a plastic tie thing on the shaft -- It leaks less that the Super A. I think that is a rather common problem, unless someone has a sure fix.
