I have a farmall b and the carb needs to be rebuilt. I was told that the carb is off a Super A not a B. It is a Carter UT i believe and I was wondering if anybody has any idea where I could find a carb kit for it. IH dealer can get the parts but the total came to over 120 bucks. That seemed a little steep.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

Thanks guys. I went to the local auto parts store and they got me one for 15 bucks. It was no problem to get, I just dont see why IH is so expensive is some stuff.

Thanks again.

The carb kit I got at NAPA had a zillion parts in it to cover dang nearly any carb ever put on a Super A, B, C. It was about $25. Check with them.

Farmer Jim:

I really don't like those carter carbs. I have found they are very hard to get parts for. Sure you can get rebuild kits but many I got in to rebuild had bad choke shafts etc. and I was unable to find many new parts. A/B/C/SC had three carbs used on those tractors: Carter/Marvel-Schebler/Zenith. Zeniths are generally easy to get parts for so I would trade your old Carter carb for a Zenith. I just quit rebuilding them altogether and told the boys in the office to sell Carter cores as is for parts.

Check you local parts store. That is where I get most of my stuff. A friend of mine picked up the kit for my Carter UT. and $25 took me all the way.

Here is a useful list of carb numbers and kits. I got a new Zenuth for my SC to replace a Carter UT from this site for $134. It was the best price I found new. Same carb fits A, B & C
