IF AND WHEN YOU TAKE IT APART, TAKE THE FLOAT AND PUT IN A BOWL OF WATER AND SUBMERGE FOR 30 SECONDS AND LET GO. IF IT FLOATS YOU NEAD A NEEDLE AND SEAT . I CLEAN THEM WITH A GOOD CARB SOLVENT FROM NAPA TO MAKE SURE IT IS GOOD TO GO.

I would add to Bob's advice that you use a thread sealant on the main jet and cage threads. If it still leaks, you may have no choice but to get another needle jet and cage. I put a brand new IH kit in my Cub, an it wouldn't stop leaking until I put a Krohler needle and cage in it.

It leaks because the float bowl is overfull, and overflowing, due to the inlet needle valve not being able to completely stop the incoming flow of gas.

You may have a bent float that's jamming against the float bowl, incorrect float level setting, a chunk of dirt in the valve, etc..

Also, the brass inlet valve seat needs to be TIGHT, otherwise, the gas may leak past the inlet valve gasket.

Also, on some carbs, if the main nozzle is not properly tightened in place with a good gasket, you can have a leak there, into the air horn.
