In combination with your earlier post -- that hose should be teed in with the one that runs to the other cylinder--and set the valve to one way??? I think that means you only use one port.

You mean the black hose--obviously not the oem setup. Perhaps the original hose (probably a metal pipe) leaked and was replaced with that hose, and connected diferently, or perhaps the seller kept messing with it until he got something that more or less worked, like it does now. That could be why it doesn't raise with the valve set on one way. You need to study your parts book and make sure everything is routed correctly. My 460U has a metal pipe as the return line, but I don't think it goes under the housing.

Wouldnt a return hose be unneccesary? My thought was when the Hydra Touch valve was moved to the down position, gravity forced the lift downward and the fluid in the cylinders would flow freely thru the now opened(no pressure)port that the lift hoses were already connected to.To put a 2nd hose on the HT valve, and to shift it to Dual Acting, that means you are pressurizing the reservoir on the downstroke. This might explain why the bucket drops faster when the engine isnt running than when it is.

You are correct, you don't need a return hose for one-way operation. To me the valve you are talking about, when set to one way, acts as a vent and bleeds off the pressure. Still don't know why it won't raise when set on single acting, sounds like something is plugged.
