I've taken the three bolts out of the triangle shaped bearing cage on my A, and all it does is spin. Am I missing something or is there a puller? I'm replacing the seal to keep my brakes dry. Am I on the right track?

Just pulled the bearing retainers off mine last week. One side came off very easy, the other side did the same as yours. I carefully drove the bearing and carrier out of the retainer with a brass drift. I had to knock it out a bit & then pull the carrier away from the housing and blocked it away with 3 evenly spaced nuts and then drove it all the way out. Didn't need too much force.

I don’t know if that particular retainer has them, but some have holes drilled and taped in them to put bolts in to “press” the bearing off. Some times after getting them to move some, I have turned the retainer a bit, put nuts between the retainer and housing and put bolts through them. This also will help back it off, but you still need to use caution and turn the bolts a little bit at a time and evenly or you can break the retainer.

Why not leave the housing in place & just dig the seal out??
I had to do that when one side came off the differential & the other one didn"t.
If you get too vicious with the bearing retainer, you could damage the bearing also.
Patience is a good thing!
