I am restoring a 1940 M. Some place on the internet I seen a place where you could buy a new mud shield for a M for $35.00.
I dont't remember where I was at and now I can't find it. Does anybody know where I could look. Thanks

One place that sells that calls it "the part you didn't know you were missing" or something like that. Official name in parts book is "fan pulley dust shield".

There was a guy up at Berne, Indiana that was making ones for an H last year but I haven't seen anything lately. I think his name was Ryan something. You might find it in the archives.

Lanny, I don't know what you are refering to as a "mud shield". There was a scraper that attatched to the bottom of the bolster between the row crop wheels to scrap mud off the front wheels as they turned..or fenders? Give us a heads up on this one ...Mike in Exeter Ontario

I'm talking about the tin plate that mounts under the radiator with 4 bolts. It has a hole for the radiator drain tube and another hole for the grease sert to grease the crank slide thing.

Ok Lanny I got you now! I happen to have one of those plates but I have an M for it to go on, its been off for about twenty years. If you can't find one, Ontario Used Tractor Parts(519)523-4922 will most surely have one and he will ship(UPS I think) A wrecking yard close to you should have one, but if not give Steve a shout..Mud shield HMMMM.. so that's what they are called ...Mike in Exeter Ontario

Hi Mike,

I think he is talking about the mud shield under the pulley. That big square piece of tin that keeps the mud outta the pulley?

Allan
